Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. Who you're contracting with
These Terms are an agreement between you and:
- Entity: [legal entity: not yet stated]
- Address: [registered address: not yet stated]
- Contact: support@tethril.com
"Tethril", "we" and "us" mean that entity. "You" means you, or the organisation you're signing up on behalf of, in which case you're confirming you're allowed to bind it.
2. Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms by ticking the box when you create an account. If you don't accept them, don't create one. We'll keep a record of when you accepted, because that's what makes this agreement enforceable for both of us.
3. What Tethril is
An AI life manager at tethril.com: tell it what's happening and its AI assistant plans, schedules and adjusts your day from that. It is not a backup service, a medical or mental-health service, and not somewhere to keep the only copy of anything important; use the export in Settings → Privacy and data for that.
4. Your account
You need to be at least 16 (13 in the US, or older where your country's age of digital consent is higher). Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@tethril.com if you think it's been compromised. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, whose terms also apply to that part.
5. Price
Tethril is free to use. There is no subscription, no billing, and nothing to cancel.
6. Your content stays yours
Everything you put into Tethril is yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, back up, transmit and display it, and to send the relevant parts to our AI provider when you ask the assistant for something. That licence exists to operate the product and ends when you delete the content or your account.
We don't use your content to train AI models, and we don't sell it. See the Privacy Policy.
7. The AI assistant
The assistant is built on a large language model, and large language models get things wrong. It can misread a request, invent a detail, or propose a schedule that makes no sense. Treat its output as a suggestion to check, not a fact: it proposes changes and leaves an undo, and you remain responsible for what you accept. Don't rely on it for legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
Fair use applies: AI requests are rate-limited per account to keep the service up for everyone.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use Tethril to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights;
- store or transmit malware;
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including us;
- attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or circumvent rate limits or access controls;
- scrape it, resell it, or run it for a third party as your own service; or
- drive the AI assistant to generate illegal content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that do these things. Where it's reasonable to, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your data; for serious or illegal misuse we may act immediately.
9. Availability
We work to keep Tethril running and available, but we don't promise a specific uptime percentage and this agreement contains no service-level guarantee. Maintenance, outages at our providers, and bugs all happen. We'll tell you about anything significant by email.
10. Changes to the service
Features will be added, changed and sometimes removed. If we remove something you're materially relying on, or discontinue the service altogether, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.
11. Ending it
You can stop whenever you like: delete your account outright in Settings → Privacy and data. Deleting is permanent after a 7-day grace period, so export first if you want a copy.
We may terminate for a material breach of these Terms, or if we stop offering the service. Sections 6, 12, 13, 14 and 16 survive termination.
12. Our intellectual property
The Tethril software, name, logo and design are ours. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while you use the service and nothing more. Feedback you send us we may use freely, without owing you anything for it.
13. Disclaimers
Except where the law says otherwise, Tethril is provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI will be accurate.
None of this limits your statutory rights as a consumer. If you're a consumer in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction, you have legal guarantees about digital services that we can't exclude, and nothing here tries to.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it arose, or US $100.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded.
15. Indemnity
If you use Tethril in breach of these Terms or the law and that causes a third-party claim against us, you'll cover the reasonable costs of defending it. This doesn't apply to consumers acting outside a business.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction: not yet stated], and the courts there have jurisdiction.
If you're a consumer, this doesn't deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
Before anything formal, please email support@tethril.com. Most things are a misunderstanding that a reply can fix.
17. General
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing something isn't waiving it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may, on notice, if the business is sold. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy, Cookie Notice and Refund Policy are the whole agreement.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Minor changes get posted here with a new date; material ones get at least 30 days' email notice before taking effect. If you don't accept a change, stop using Tethril before it does. Continuing to use Tethril after that means you accept it.
